چکیده

Consider a study where the times of occurrences of a recurrent event for n units are monitored. For the ith unit, T(i1), T(i2), …, denote the successive event interoccurrence times and this unit is monitored over a random period [0, τ(i)] with τ(i) independent of the T(ij)s. Over this monitoring period, [Formula: see text] is the random number of event occurrences. The T(ij)s are independent and identically distributed (IID) from an unknown continuous distribution function F and the τ(i)s are IID from a distribution function G. A generalized Koziol-Green (GKG) structure wherein 1-G = (1-F)(β) for some β > 0 is assumed. Under this model, Nelson-Aalen and product-limit type estimators of Λ = -log(1-F) and F are obtained, as well as an estimator of β. Asymptotic and small-sample properties of these estimators are obtained and the estimator of F is compared to the fully nonparametric estimator in Peña et al. (2001) in terms of their finite-sample and asymptotic efficiency. The performance of the estimators of F are also examined when the GKG structure does not hold through a simulation study.

A semiparametric additive rate model for recurrent events with an informative terminal event.

We propose a semiparametric additive rate model for modelling recurrent events in the presence of a terminal event. The dependence between recurrent events and terminal event is nonparametric. A general transformation model is used to model the terminal event. We construct an estimating equation for parameter estimation and derive the asymptotic distributions of the proposed estimators. Simulat...

Robust tests for treatment effects based on censored recurrent event data observed over multiple periods.

We derive semiparametric methods for estimating and testing treatment effects when censored recurrent event data are available over multiple periods. These methods are based on estimating functions motivated by a working "mixed-Poisson" assumption under which conditioning can eliminate subject-specific random effects. Robust pseudoscore test statistics are obtained via "sandwich" variance estim...

Estimation and Efficiency with Recurrent Event Data under Informative Monitoring.

This article deals with studies that monitor occurrences of a recurrent event for n subjects or experimental units. It is assumed that the i(th) unit is monitored over a random period [0,tau(i)]. The successive inter-event times T(i1), T(i2), ..., are assumed independent of tau(i). The random number of event occurrences over the monitoring period is K(i) = max{k in {0, 1, 2, ...} : T(i1) + T(i2...

Joint Models of Longitudinal Data and Recurrent Events with Informative Terminal Event.

This article presents semiparametric joint models to analyze longitudinal data with recurrent event (e.g. multiple tumors, repeated hospital admissions) and terminal event such as death. A broad class of transformation models for the cumulative intensity of the recurrent events and the cumulative hazard of the terminal event is considered, which includes the proportional hazards model and the p...

Parametric Estimation in a Recurrent Competing Risks Model

A resource-efficient approach to making inferences about the distributional properties of the failure times in a competing risks setting is presented. Efficiency is gained by observing recurrences of the compet- ing risks over a random monitoring period. The resulting model is called the recurrent competing risks model (RCRM) and is coupled with two repair strategies whenever the system fails. ...
